I said the normal every day user does not need firefox.

The normal, everyday user is EXACTLY who needs firefox. It's the people who know a thing or two about securing their computer that don't need the added help... that said, I know a thing or two about securing(and getting around) computers--and I still use firefox.

also, I can mess with my Firefox setting and decrease page load times by about 75%... IE can't.

Yes. He is right.

EVERY ONE USING FIREFOX! TYPE THIS IN YOUR ADDRESS BAR AND PRESS ENTER!

about:config

See what makes firefox superior to IE.

See why experts with many years prefer FF.

Well, even without editing anything from there FF is still just so much better. And I KNOW what Im doing. Ive been at this for years and years and I cant put enough emphasis on this. Experience is the best teacher and if wish to ignore it then so be it.

Im Europian.

I play a lot of games online and more than 2 3rds of them have something on there login page say 'This game is designed to work best with FF click here to download it now'.
Most people who want to play it will download FF. A few of the games have done member polls on brousers that are used. FF comes out on top of all of them.
Surely this meens that FF is becoming more popular despite it not being included on new computer OS's and despite it not being very well knone.

Oh wait wait wait, what about the average school kid who knows little and uses IE to search for sites on google and goes to all these randoms sites and catches more viruses and worms than a vietnamese prostitue. Of course, they dont know what theyre doing any why porn keeps poping up in their browser and why their computer is going slow and why they cant open any of their things.

Firefox can handle your script, you just need to handle Firefox JS.

I like Firefox Js since it has support for JS 1.5 and is working on JS 2.0 support (not on the trunk, but on a branch for testing and prototyping). IE, is still back in the 1.3 age with no support for getElementbyID(), which I absolutely love. With limited to no support in IE, I just rather not support IE than to spend hours or days researching on how to get around it in IE. After trying that with a simple ass task of hovering tables (which I finally broke down and went with the simple method of using tables).

I've always preferred Firefox. Not only because it's faster, and more secure, but also for the extensions, the option of getting sexy skins... Tabbed browsing means less RAM usage for older machines, I can have flash, jsr, and shockwave, I can install wicked scripts that speed everything up... Another current problem with IE is it's protocols are closely affiliated with those for the normal Explorer (the thing that lets you view folders) so if something is changed or corrupted in one, it quite often fucks quite a bit of your system.

Now that I'm on Ubuntu (a linux distro), I also realise that about 90% of the programs I've stuck by for their general UBERness for years are included: Firefox, Thunderbird E-mail Client, The Gimp, BitTorrent, OpenOffice...

I personally hate having to include all the stupid widgets to make sure my pages display right for IE users, but I still do it. In my opinion, Firefox is currently superior. However, as I am never ever going back to the dreaded overlord system, I shall never know how the new IE compares.

EDIT: On a side note, I read an interesting article the other day. A woman was testing XP (since they say its all secure and all that, which I know is a crock) to see how long a fresh install, with broadband and no extra programs installed, would last before getting completely ass-raped. I think it was somewhere around twenty minutes. 0_0

I think this is the link;

https://addons.mozilla.org/themes/?application=firefox

Some of them can slow down older machines though. I particularly like the blackish ones (don't recall the name... darkshift perhaps?), they come in black and red/blue/pink/purple/yellow/green and need I go on?

EDIT: Yarp, yarp. These are the ones I liked, but then I got windows blinds, and then I got Ubuntu;
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/9469/author/
Have fun.

Black Japan all the way!

Personaly i hate the normal, unthemed FF.

If you dont know how to change themes...

Tools > Themes > |new window| > Bottom Right Corner > Get More Themes > Search And Download > Enjoy.

If you want to download it, link is: Here

I love the regular FF theme. It fits in with my Classic windows colour scheme and task bar and all that.

I think the black of the FF window looks quite good against the silver of my XP.

The standard FF theme is to.....blank. Its got no personality, no.....anything. Just standard standardness.
