Ive been looking around for a long time now for some decent software to host my images with. Im finding a lot of shit.

All I want is some software, no greater than 15 bucks (Some are asking for 70) that will allow me to upload multiple images at once and that will have a link under/above those imiages for linkage. Similar to photobucket if anyone uses it.

ive been looking and looking and all I keep finding is shit and I dont want to make one myself.

Have you tried Gallery 2 with your own shared hosting?

If so, then I could probably host you for free, but you'll be stuck with like anman.dragonu.net or some other subdomain url. Which may not be your best option.

If you want cheap hosting then I may suggest Dreamhost and if you use the Promo code: FRIENDOFME, then the setup fee will be waived. It would be within your 15 dollar limit and they allow one click install of Gallery 2, so no work for you. You would get a free domain signing up, so as to not have to have a subdomain.

He's already got a domain and real hosting and everything. I think he just needs a script to run the thing. If Dreamhost as a 1CI of Gallery2, it's prolly open-source right?

Yeah.

The site is at http://gallery.menalto.com/ it is a pretty simple install. You probably don't need the full install and could do with a smaller package.

Damn thing is huge, but cool as hell. My gallery is run by it, so you can see what it looks like.

Youve missed the point. I want to host my own for my own use and not some shitty other group like that. I want to host my own so I can edit the software and backup the images myself.

you could write your own image uploading utility. The only obvious problem with that is it takes a lot of time. So it'll only be quick and easy after you've developed it. PhotoDrop Is all I could suggest otherwise, and I'm still not sure wether you could host that yourself, I haven't looked into it much.

Thats a nifty looking program.. but it currently only supports jpeg files.

I know, I could write my own, but right now, I just dont have the time to put together such a program. Nor do I have the mental capacity at the moment because work is driving me hard.

I could let you have the uploader thing I wrote for the Mod Index. It'd take some modification, since I'm assuming you only want upload access for certain people (you and Kourtney), and also you probably want thumbnail display, which it isn't currently set up for. But it'd be a starting point. Modifying it would prolly take less time and effort than starting your own from scratch.

Wait.. how did you know her name?

Although its a good offer, (albit jungy is right "I COULD let you") I dont want to have to code that much. I basicly have to code extra upload fields and the thumn nails and such.

EDIT-
Now I remmber how you knew her name.

so basically you want something for free, and want to apply absolutely no effort on your own part--and even expect others to have to go out of their way to do it for you?

Ok, just checking.
