So... this was at the same time pretty good, and terribly bad.
The story wasn't all that bad, though it was rather contrived. Kate Beckinsdale was... just... wow. And Frankenstein (or Frankenstein's monster, for you elitists) was pretty cool. And of course, it was about vampires and stuff, so there was lots of fighting and all that fun junk. Most of the CGI was done decently well, too.
However... there were definitely some very bad things about this movie. Kate Beckinsdale and Hugh Jackman were good, as well as the guy who played Frankenstein... But the acting on the part of pretty much everyone else in the movie was complete shit. The accents sounded badly faked, and especially the three "Brides" just seemed like they were trying waaaaaaay too hard. Far too many of those cliche high-pitched witch cackles and shit like that.
And then there was the ending. I swear, the last 30 seconds of the movie made me want to stab myself in the eye with a rusty railroad spike. I won't ruin it for anyone, but suffice it to say, it is absolutely the most trite and stupid way to end a movie ever.
So the movie gets a C+ from me. Good popcorn entertainment, and Kate Beckinsdale is definitely a good addition to your whack stack, but don't expect any Oscar-calibre performances. And leave before the last 30 seconds.

I saw it last night with Nykole... That movie was good and bad as you say. Mostly what I thought was bad was the 'Super Hero' BS. You know what I mean, super heros get in trouble and then theres impecible timimg and skill used by them or another and it saves them all from getting killed. Perhaps its just my sad seeking of realility.
I though it was pretty good though, but I also like super natural movies. Missed the first part and didn't want to bother to see it again, so I guess that dosent make it a blockbuster...
