Before we get started, let me preface this by stating three little facts:
1. I am an asshole.
2. Over the past month or two, I have become very jaded with DK and Scourge.
3. As I write this post, I am in a bad mood.
So, taking those all this into account, you'll have to forgive me for this post sounding rude or arrogant or sarcastic. So with that out of the way, let's begin, shall we?

SECTION ONE: WHO SHOULD NOT USE MY GAME AT ALL.

- If you do not understand the general principles of PHP, you should not use my game.

- If you do not understand the general principles of MySQL, you should not use my game.

- If you have lost an intelligence contest to a goldfish, a slug, or a particularly smart chunk of dirt, you should not use my game.

I have attempted to make installation for Dragon Knight as quick and painless as possible. Everything you need to know is spelled out in the readme file, the installation instructions, and the actual installer script itself. Hundreds of people have installed my game successfully, so I know the instructions and the installer work. If you do not know how to edit a configuration file, or if you do not know how to view MySQL records in phpMyAdmin or your frontend program of choice, you should not be attempting to install my game. Yet. Go to php.net and mysql.com, and there are tons of tutorials and help files available for you to read. Check them out, play with stuff a little, and come back when you think you know enough to get it installed without asking stupid questions. Till then, just play it on my server, or one of the hundreds of other servers out there. Do a google search for "Powered by Dragon Knight" and you will find lots of places to play it.

SECTION TWO: WHO SHOULD NOT BE TRYING TO CHANGE/EDIT/ALTER MY GAME.

- If you do not fully understand how MySQL works, you should not try to change my game.

- If you do not fully understand how my game's particular table structure works, you should not try to change my game.

- If you do not already have a decent working knowledge and skill for programming in PHP, you should not try to change my game.

I have heard from a great many people who said they really liked my game because it was so easy to modify. (I've also heard the opposite from one or two, but we won't go there.) I have personally seen a great deal of really cool modifications people have done. So I know it's possible. That said, if you don't know PHP, don't even try. If you don't know MySQL, and especially if you don't know how my stat system works, don't even try. Certain fields must be set in certain ways, and if you screw them up, things will not work. That's just the way it is. In theory, Scourge will be a much more extensible system, if/when I ever get it finished. But for now, you just have to deal with it.

SECTION TWO-POINT-ONE: DO NOT ASK ME TO CHANGE/EDIT/ALTER MY GAME FOR YOU.

If you don't know PHP, and if you don't know MySQL, and if you don't know how my game works, tough titty said the kitty. Don't come to me and say "I really want to do this, but I can't, so can you do it for me". I will not. Don't come to me and say "I know you said you don't want to help people with new features, but I really need this, so can you help me." I will not. Deal with it.

SECTION THREE: STOP ASKING FOR PLAYER VERSUS FUCKING PLAYER.

- Do not ask for PVP in DK.

- No, seriously, do not ask for PVP in DK.

- Goddammit, people. STOP ASKING FOR PVP OR I WILL COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND RAPE YOUR MOTHER!

As far as I'm concerned, Dragon Knight is finished. It does everything I wanted it to do when I started writing it. Except for fixing whatever bugs happen to show up, I will not be doing any more work on DK. I have a very short attention span, and as far as I'm concerned, I spent more time with DK than I ever really wanted to anyway. New features will never be added to the official DK code. This includes PVP, this includes Top 10 Players, this includes monster/item pictures, this includes anything you could possibly think of that you want in DK. A good many of these features are planned for inclusion in Scourge, my next game. Stop asking for them to be in DK, cause I'm sick of answering you.

SECTION FOUR: SORRY FOR BEING A DICKHEAD, BUT...

My game is not created by a big company. My game doesn't really have a huge community of developers and modders. I created the game by myself. I let you all use it for free. And especially lately, I am a very very busy person. I have my own life to live. If I help one person add something or change something, I will be expected to help everyone add something or change something... and I simply don't have the amount of free time available to help everyone. I do have enough free time that I am able to answer general questions about the game and how things work, but I do not have enough free time to actually get into the code and change things for you, or to add new features for you. Nor do I have enough time to explain how PHP or MySQL works, if you don't already know them. I've tried to make everything as simple as possible, but it still requires a little smidge of intelligence and cognitive reasoning ability. If those two requirements are beyond you, perhaps you should consider getting a job in the foodservice industry. (And I know that saying "no tomatoes on my burger" will probably confuse the everliving fuck out of you when I go through your drive-through, but at least try to get it right. Because I really hate tomatoes.)

Anyway, I'm sick of typing now. Once again, sorry for sounding like an asshole. But I'm in a bad mood today, cuz I didn't get much sleep last night. Sue me.
