With all due respect to Gary and the others who use PunBB... I can't bloody stand it anymore. Much like communism, it's a great idea on paper, but in practice, it's less than great, as far as I'm concerned.
At any rate, while waiting for Infopop's NGP (which has now been pushed to "delayed" status), I'm going to attempt to migrate up to UBB.Threads. I plan on this making as small an impact as absolutely possible. I'm gonna hack it up to use SHA1 instead of MD5 for password hashes, so theoretically you won't even have to change your passwords. And I'm going to put some of the other important hacks into it. But it's come to a point where I simply can't stand this forum program anymore. Sorry.
But yeah. At some point, whenever I get the time to write an importer, I'm gonna close the boards for awhile (if all goes well, less than an hour, though it's really hard to tell) and get the new boards working. Just figured I'd let you know in advance, so when the "Boards are closed" message comes up, you all don't do anything irrational like jump out of a 16th storey window.

Nah, it's alright. I knew you would change back sometime. The only thing is, does it have to be Ubb.threads? Wouldn't that mean that you would have to go back to their evil servers?
I don't want you to have to pay a lot more for basically the same you are getting now (or even worse) just to use a better forum.

No, Eve is their only forum thing that's on Infopop servers. UBB .classic and .threads are both downloadable and installable anywhere. The default interface for it does kinda suck, but there are several good skin packages that make it look a lot better.

You aren't using the Google Accelerator, are you? Flagrant disregard for privacy issues aside, that's been known to cause some weird problems with forum software.

Hm.. Ru using a static IP address? Form my past experience, sometimes, when your IP address suddenly changes while you are in the same PHP session, the old user hasnt been logged off.. and u are logged again (w/ the same name) but w/ different ip address.. this sometimes causes the same name to be displayed twice.

Getting back to the original topic... ;)
The upgrade to Threads has been stalled for a bit (obviously). I'm on vacation at the moment, so I don't have access to my home computer. I got the members and forums importers working before I left, but I'm stuck on threads/posts. PunBB stores everything in one table, but Threads splits up topics and posts into two separate tables, so I'm still working on figuring out the correct sequence that things need to be brought in so that everything plays nicely together.
I'm getting back home a week from yesterday, so I'll hopefully be able to get it finished shortly thereafter.

Why the hell would you ever need more then one table for forum topcis/posts?!?!
Lets see, one fore the topic name, one for the poster, one for the post itself...
This is why I hate other forums..
