A poem I wrote a couple weeks ago and posted on the old forums. Figured I'd repost it here cuz I kinda like it.
=====
I fell into the red room now
The walls so dark and broken
I found the key, it opens now
But only for awhile.
The red room is mostly barren
One chair within the circle
I can't sit down, but only fly
Hovering above it.
The walls are closing in on me
With every throbbing pulse
The music plays, I see the beat
Flashing strobing floor.
Unblinked I fall away from there
Back to the spinning world
The music slows, no longer real
Its only in my head.
I hear the talking astronauts
With voices so familiar
They call for me, but I can't say
Just what they may be chanting.
I kissed her there inside the room
But she began to fade
She's taunting me, beneath her eyes
I see the twisted grin.
I flew around the red room with
Its walls made of flourescence
The chair, the girl, the music scream
I only wish to stop it.
And now I wake up in my bed
The room was only dreaming
The empty box that held the key
To crush my fragile skull.
But not to crush, I say again
For crushing comes from outside
The key's red light comes from within
It must escape its prison.
The key screams out its endless rage
To break me of my habit
But still my mind is yet too strong
Though soon I may forsake it.
And so I go about my way
That world, that room, has fallen
Until the night when yet again
I find the key and turn it.
