It depends on cat. If you get a pedigree cat then you can pretty much choose its adult temperment, but if you get any cat with any mix of breeds then the outcome will be random.
I am a cat person. My mrs is a cat person. Untill we can be bothered having children there will forever be cats.

Well, only a few breeds of cats originated from egypt. So most of cats bloodlines today wouldnt have come from there.

I agree with both notes. I would say that Kittens rule, how can something so cute and fuzzy be hurt by something 100 times its size? Damn humans and their cruelity to cats. Actually, I like all animals that won't try to eat me. Not PETA like, but like every sane human likes an animal.
True, it is a known historical fact that when a species grows too big in population and treatens the balance, it is put down by other means. Of course, it is also said that at least 2 percent will be naturally immune, so at the very least, 2 percent would survive any highly dangerous diesease.
